What's the difference between web and desktop?
The web app does everything — record interviews with your mic, get full reports, all metrics. The desktop app is optional but gives a dedicated experience. The only reason you need it is if you're on Elite and want to capture both sides of the call (your audio + the interviewer's via system audio).
How does the $9 charge work?
After your interview ends, a popup appears on screen and we send an email to your inbox. Enter your card details and pay $11 to unlock the full Basic report. No charge until you accept it.
What happens on Pro and Elite?
After each interview, you're prompted to confirm your resume (or upload a new one for that session). Your report unlocks immediately — no per-report charge. Cancel anytime from Settings.
Does my interviewer know it's running?
No. InterviewStats is completely invisible to call participants — it runs silently in the background. It captures your microphone on all plans, or both sides via system audio (Elite with desktop app).
Do I need my own API keys?
No. All API keys are managed on our servers. You pay for the plan — we handle the infrastructure.
How does the resume feature work?
Upload your resume (PDF, DOCX, TXT) in Settings. After each interview, our AI compares your answers against your resume and identifies gaps, missing achievements, and specific bullet rewrites.
What if I close the app before paying?
Your report is saved to your dashboard in a locked state. We also send it to your inbox — unlock whenever you're ready.
How does system audio work on Elite?
Elite captures both your microphone and the interviewer's audio using a virtual audio device (VB-Cable on Windows, BlackHole on Mac). Setup instructions are in the app Settings page.
